IPAF‘s MEWPs for Managers eLearning theory module is a complete training course. The eLearning course delivers flexibility and interactive tools, with emphasis on contextualised on-line training. Delegates can complete the elearning at their own pace, anywhere and on any device.

The eLearning module utilises sophisticated facial recognition software across the learning modules and evaluation session to ensure the delegate’s identity and to prevent any attempt to obtain the certification through fradulent means. Therefore access to a webcam is require in order to complete this training course.

This course consists of an elearning module and online assessment.

Successful delegates will gain an understanding of current relevant legislation and best practice on a range of MEWPs and be able to supervise and oversee work on MEWPS safely, in line with current approved methods and manufacturer’s instructions. The course agenda includes:

• Current legislation, regulation, best practice and standards.
• Different types and classifications of MEWPs
• Hire terms and conditions
• The importance of correct machine selection
• Selection of the correct PPE for the operator
• Safe use and operation of MEWPs
• Loading & unloading of MEWPs
• Identify misuse and abuse of MEWPs
• Planning and maintenance considerations
• Safe operating methods and hazard awareness

This course is suitable for any delegate who requires the MEWPs for Managers but wants the flexibility to complete the course at their own pace and in their own environment. It is recommended for employers, project managers, foremen and supervisors working in a broad range of industries such as construction, facilities management, retail, airports and arboriculture. Anyone who is responsible for planning and overseeing the use of MEWPs on their job site.

At the end of the theory course the candidate will complete an individual online test. There will also be an explanation of the pass/fail marks. If the candidate fails, they will have to request a re-test from the issuing Approved Training Centre to retake the exam. The Training Centre can re-issue the exam module to the candidate however the exam should only be re-assigned a maximum of two times. If the candidate fails more than two times the course should be rescinded and if the trainee wishes to try again, they would need to do so as a new trainee, having to complete the whole course and theory test.

Upon successful completion of the IPAF eLearning training, we will be able to complete the registration and delegates will receive their certification. Those who hold a valid PAL Card can have the MEWPS for Managers (MM) category added.
